Historic Construction & Design Projects on Exhibit

In a collective effort to ensure the success and need for historic tax credit legislation is known, a new alliance has been formed. The Alabama Council of American Institute of Architects, ABC of Alabama, and the Structural Engineers Association of Alabama have formed a coalition to highlight the successful 39 projects that were made available through the Alabama historical tax credit legislation.

Projects noted on this list will be highlighted across the state and featured in Montgomery during the 2016 legislative session. Opening receptions for the exhibit will be held in Birmingham, Montgomery, Mobile, Tuscaloosa and Huntsville.

“Our association has heard loud and clear that these tax credits not only help preserve historical relevance in our state, but also create jobs,” said ABC of Alabama President Jay Reed. “Our governmental affairs team has every intent to be on the front lines with the alliance to not only showcase these projects but ensure the Alabama legislature understands the pending extension of this tax credit is essential.”

The coalition does intend to have one day set aside this session for the industry to assist them in Montgomery with meetings with both the House and Senate. ABC of Alabama will have additional information on its website February 9.
